General Questions
Can I submit materials through MediaVu instead of the NBC Ad Standards website?
Yes. You can submit either via MediaVu or the NBC Ad Standards website.
If I email materials directly to the editor instead of using the site, will it still get reviewed?
No. All clearance materials must be submitted through the NBC Ad Standards website or MediaVu in order to be reviewed. This will help us consolidate our submissions and ultimately give more timely responses.
What if I just have a general question? Can I still contact an editor directly?
If the question pertains to our procedures or our guidelines, feel free to email or call an editor directly. Please refer to the editor list and contact the editor that handles the category on which you have a question. If the question pertains to a specific commercial, please use the website or MediaVu.
How long will it take for an editor to review my submission?
Advertisers should allow up to 3 business days for review of commercial materials.
Who do I contact regarding traffic instructions or technical specifications regarding my commercial?
The commercial operations department. Please visit the commercial operations website http://nbcuni.force.com/commops for more specific information regarding traffic instructions and technical specifications.
Can editors just review my on-air advertising materials that I sent to Englewood Cliffs?
No. Advertisers must upload a final, slated viewing copy and as-produced script via the NBC Ad Standards website separate from the on-air materials that are sent to our MOC in Englewood Cliffs.
How can I change my personal information and/or password?
Once you have logged into the site, in the top right corner where it says "Welcome <Your Name>". There is a "Profile" link, from there you will be able to change your Name, Email, Phone Number,
Fax Number, and Password.
New User Registration
How do I register for a new account?Click on 'Submit Materials' in the navigation bar above, and then click on the registration button to register or click here.
After registering you will need to wait for an administrator to approve your user.
What do I do if I do not see my agency?
If your agency cannot be located in the system, click on the “Add Agency” button to manually register the agency. A pop-up window will appear for you to enter in the information.
What if my email is already being used?
This may mean you have already registered for an account with us. Please wait for admin approval or please try our Forgot Password page.
When will I know my account has been approved?
You will receive an email notification from NBCU Ad Standards once an admin has approved your user.
Logging In
I just registered but I cannot log in?After registering you will need to wait for an admin to approve your account. You will recieve an email at the email address you registered
when your account has been approved.
I am not sure what my username and passwords are. How do I get them?
You should have received an email from us containing your username and a password. If you can't
find it, please go to the Forgot Password page and enter your email address to retrieve your username and reset the password.
How do I change my password?
Please go to Update Password
You will be prompted to enter your current username and password, and will then be able to choose the password of your choice instead.

Please go to Forgot Password page and enter your email address to retrieve your username and reset the password.
Sending Materials For Review
What if I do not see my account?If the Account is not listed, click on “Add Account.” The system allows for a search of all existing accounts. To search for an Account,
type the account name, and a drop-down menu will appear. If Account is found, simply click on “Submit” to continue with the submission process. If materials are being
submitted for an advertiser which is not yet in the system, you will be able to manually add the account by clicking "Can't find an account?".
What if I do not see my product?
If the Agency is not listed, click on “Add Product.” The system allows for a search of all existing agencies. To search for a product,
type the product name, and a drop-down menu will appear. If Product is found, simply click on “Submit” to continue with the submission process. If materials are being
submitted for an agency which is not yet in the system, you will be able to manually add the account by clicking "Can't find a product?".
How do I submit for Split 30's or Piggybacks?
If submitting a Split: 30’s / Piggybacks, please indicate the product names separated by a slash ( / ). For example, “Skim Milk / Orange Juice”.
Can I create a submission with only related documents?
You CANNOT only upload related documents; they need to be accompanied by a primary clearance submission.
Do I receive any confirmation of my submission?
When the upload is complete, you should be redirect to a confirmation page. You will also receive an automated email notification to confirm
your submission. Please make sure NOT to close the browser window until the upload completed successfully and you receive an upload confirmation. Closing the window early will
prevent materials from being delivered for clearance.
What if I do not receive an upload or approval email?
Please check your spam/junk mail folder to make sure that the email was not sent there. Please also check with your IT department to make sure
that the emails are not being intercepted by a spam filter. They need to make sure that you are able to receive emails from donotreply@nbcuadstandards.com.
When should I expect to hear a reply back on my submission?
Advertisers should allow up to 3 business days for review of commercial materials.
You will receive an Advertising Clearance Report via email. This report lists the approval status of the submissions. Additional requests are also listed in the Advertising Clearance Report.
Upload Issues
What if I receive an error while uploading?If you receive an error message when uploading materials via nbcuadstandards.com website, please make sure that you are using the latest browser version from the list above. Then please
attempt to re-submit your materials by clicking the RESUBMIT MATERIALS button from the upload error page. If error persists please contact support@nbcuadstandards.com.
